Greg Mitchell announces his candidacy for Register of Deeds in the August 7, 2014 General Election.

Mitchell is a former County Commissioner serving the Third District from 2002-2010. During his term as Commissioner, Mitchell served as Chairman Pro Tem, and was a member of the Budget and other county committees.

"The recording of deeds and other county documents is a vital part in the preservation of the rich history of our community," said Mitchell. "I promise that I will work hard to carry out the duties of this office to best of my ability."

Currently Mitchell serves as Maintenance Supervisor for the Woodbury Housing Authority.

Mitchell is the son of Joe and Sue Mitchell of the Woodland community. Greg and his wife Nora are the parents of three children, Ana, Monica and Joe. They also have a grandchild, Audrina.

Greg is a life-long resident of Woodland and a 1983 graduate of Cannon County High School. For the past 10 years Mitchell has served as Pastor of the Center Hill Baptist Church.

"I want to take this opportunity to ask you, the citizens of Cannon County for your vote and support in the August elections," Mitchell said. "I know it will be impossible to see each voter but I look forward to seeing and talking with as many people as time allows before August 7th."
