Milligan Hollandsworth



Milligan Hollandsworth, 88, died Wedneday, Feb. 15, 2012 at Stones River Hospital following an extended illness.

A native of Cannon County, he was a resident of Woodbury.

He was a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ, and was retired from Tennessee Dept. of Transportation as Supervisor with 45 years of service. He also was past Secretary of the Cannon Co. Election Commission.

Survivors:  

Wife of 65 years: Dean Grizzle Hollandsworth of Woodbury.

Children: Joan and Glyn Prater, Stan and Sandy Hollandsworth and Lisa Jones, all of Woodbury.

Daughter-in-law: Faye Hollandsworth of Woodbury.

Sister: Miles Womack of Woodbury.

6 Grandchildren: Cynthia Taylor, Michelle Prater, Stephanie Vance, Michael Hollandsworth, Shane Hollandsworth, Daniel Jones.

4 Great Grandchildren: Eden Baxter, Emily Taylor, Reese Vance and Ryder Vance.

Also surviving are 4 step grandchildren, 5 step great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Jessie Milligan Hollandsworth; son, Phil Hollandsworth; sister, Mary Morris; and brother, Ray Hollandsworth.

Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, 2012 with Bro. Herb Alsup and Jason Melton officiating.

Burial will follow in Riverside Gardens.

Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 09, 2012.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to American Cancer Society, American Diabetes Assoc. or Woodbury Church of Christ Day School
