Funeral services for Margaret Lavena Stone Fletcher, age 85, of Manchester will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Sunday, December 5, 2010 at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Bob Jared and Bro. Bill Eversole officiating.  Burial will follow in Rose Hill Memorial Gardens.  Visitation with the Fletcher family will be from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at the funeral home.

Margaret Lavena Stone Fletcher was born February 24, 1925 in Coffee County, TN.  She was the daughter of the late Everette Clarence Stone, Sr. and Clara Bell Kent Stone.  She went to sleep at United Regional Nursing Home on December 2, 2010, surrounded by her family and woke up to her eternal reward and those awaiting her.

Mrs. Fletcher graduated from Manchester High School on April 20, 1945.  She married the love of her life, Edwin Johnson Fletcher on September 7, 1946.  They lived in Manchester until 1972, when they moved to McMinnville.  She taught Sunday School to the small children at the Manchester First Free Will Baptist Church, and sang with her husband at numerous churches and funerals over the years.  Mrs. Fletcher was a member of the McMinnville First Baptist Church.

Known as “Nannie Fletcher” throughout Warren County, she had a very special love for children.  She did not do ordinary daycare.  She became Grandmother to these children and a kind of foster mom to their parents.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband on November 6, 2008; one son, Rev. Edwin Dwight Fletcher; one brother, E.C. Stone, Jr.; and one sister, Nellie Jean Robertson.  She is survived by a daughter-in-law, Barbara Hogan Fletcher of McMinnville; two sons, Donald Johnson (Mallie) Fletcher of Nashville and James Douglas (Lesa) Fletcher of Cleveland, MS; two daughters, Regina Faye (Johnny) Floyd of Manchester and Linda Margaret (Chip) Cook of Woodbury; two brothers, Dean (Suzanne) Stone of Tullahoma and Ralph (Rosa) Stone of Maryville; and one sister, Betty (Jim) Parrish of Estill Springs; 20 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
