The monthly meeting of the Cannon County Planning Commission will take place Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at 5:00 p.m. in the courtroom.
As agreed at our last meeting, the date and time of our meeting has been changed to accommodate Shannon Copus who will also be attending the Woodbury Planning Commission meeting at 6:00 p.m.
This will allow him to make one trip fromCookevilleto attend both meetings.
Shannonhas prepared an agenda and provided his meeting notes from our January and February meetings. I think the latter will suffice for our minutes.
Please plan to attend this meeting. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow at 5:00.

Training Session on Residential and Commercial Land Use Policies found in a Land Use Plan
Staff distributed example residential and commercial land use polices from a Smith County Land Use Plan. Staff explained that these polices would form general guidelines for the residential and commercial zoning districts found in a zoning resolution. Staff read through each draft policy and Staff answered many questions as it pertained to zoning and these policies. At the end of the session there were no comments and it lasted over an hour. No action was taken at this point.
One of the Planning Commission members asked to look into the role of the Planning Commission and the closing of county roads. Staff informed the Commission there is some information in Tennessee Code Annotated and that this matter would be researched in the next month. No action was taken at this point.
The Planning Commission decided to at this meeting to meet the same night as the Woodbury Planning next month on the third Tuesday Night of the Month. The meeting will start at 5:00PM.
The meeting adjourned at approximately 7:10PM.
