After all the excitement, I suppose I was expecting the riot squad to be called out but after reading this post, an old song by Peggy Lee kept echoing through my mind:

"Is that all there is, is that all there is
If that's all there is my friends, then let's keep dancing
Let's break out the booze and have a ball
If that's all there is"

So let's hope that "That's all there is"

Cudos to Cory for wanting to video the meetings and make them available to everyone.

Lets support Mrs. Mankin and wish her all the best. Also thank the board for their solidarity and wish them success in filling the empty seat. Lets vote!

She quit her job, but was offered one back. Something is messed up in that office, and it will only get worse.

No it's not going to get worse----we are on the road to recovery.

I agree with each of you. We all need to pray that we are truly on the road to recovery.
The people of Cannon County deserve nothing less.

She should have been first pick anyway with an election as close as it was instead of playing games because of revenge. I agree with MeMe1 it is the road to recovery.

Let's try not to plow the ground of the past and just deal with the problems TODAY. An old saying "A kicking mule cannot PULL"

Wonder why someone felt there was a need to start taping the meetings?

Guess it goes with the times. Distrust and acrimony in DC and on the state level everywhere and even in Cannon County.

As was stated in the last meeting these tapes would be posted on line in an effort to keep all of the people of the County more informed. Many people for one reason or another are unable to attend all of these meetings.

I personally this is the best way to keep the most accurate record of the meetings. No more he said she said. It is there for ALL to hear and see. After all these are open public meetings.
