Mark Dennis Shaw, 7986 Ivy Bluff Rd., Morrison, was charged with Public Intoxication on May 14 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Travis Turney.

While patrolling on Ivy Bluff Rd., Deputy Turney observed Shaw walking in the middle of the roadway. He was staggering and holding his head low.

The deputy stopped his patrol unit, got out to speak with Shaw, and could smell a strong odor of alcohol.

Shaw stated he “drank too much” and had fallen and bumped his head. Shaw did not want medical treatment.

A field sobriety test was not administered due to Shaw’s already unsteady condition. He was transported to the jail and booked.

Bond was set at $500. Initial court date is June 5.
