Man Threatens To Kill Asst. Woodbury Police Chief

A man being booked at the Cannon County Jail recently threatened to kill Woodbury Assistant Police Chief Kevin Mooneyham.

On March 22, Asst. Chief Mooneyham received a call to respond to the intersection of Bryant Lane and Sunny Slope after a report of an unconscious person was received.

Upon arrival, Mooneyham found Jeffrey L. Thomas, 749 Jim Town Rd., Woodbury, passed out on the sidewalk in an extremely intoxicated state.

After being arrested and transported to the jail, Thomas told Mooneyham in front of corrections officers, Deputy Reed Bryson and Judicial Commissioner Nathan Jennings that when released he would kill him.

Thomas also said he would kill Mooneyham’s children and take everything he had.

In addition, Thomas told Mooneyham he would “rope his doors shut and set his house on fire.”

Thomas was arrested in April of last year for arson.

Total bond for Thomas on charges of assault and public intoxication was set at $26,500. His initial court date is May 10.
