Man’s License Revoked 8 Years For 3rd DUI



Judge Susan Melton presided over Cannon County General Sessions Criminal Court Tuesday (July 24). The results of some of the cases on the docket are as follows:

• John Clarence Jones pled guilty to DUI 3rd Offense (reduced from 5th Offense). He was ordered to serve 180 days in jail, pay a fine of $1,100, and his driver’s license was revoked for 8 years. He was also placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days. Any future DUI violations will be classified as a felony.

• Mark Anthony Dodd pled guilty to DUI 2nd Offense. He received a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, was ordered to serve 45 days in jail, and was placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days. He was also fined $600, assessed court costs and his driver’s license was revoked for two years.

• Bobby Lee Jones pled guilty to DUI 1st Offense. He received a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, was ordered to serve 23 days, was placed on probation for 11 months, 6 days, fined $350 and assessed court costs. His driver’s license was revoked for 1 year.

• David Wayne McCugh pled guilty to two counts of DUI 2nd Offense. In both cases he was given a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, was ordered to serve 60 days in jail, placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days, fined $350, assessed court costs, and his driver’s license was revoked for 1 year. The sentences will run concurrent.

In another case, McCugh pled guilty to Simple Possession of a Schedule IV Drug. He received a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, equal time on probation, a $750 fine and was assessed court costs. He also pled guilty to Simple Possession of a Schedule VI Drug and received a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, equal probation time, a $250 fine and court costs. The drug sentences will run concurrently, but consecutive to the DUI sentences.

• Justin Patrick Richardson pled guilty to Simple Possession of a Schedule IV Drug. He was given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, equal probation time, fined $750 and assessed court costs. Richardson also pled guilty to Simple Possession of Marijuana. He received a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, equal probation time, a $250 fine and was assessed court costs.

In another case, Richardson pled guilty to Driving While License Suspended. He received a partially suspended sentence of 6 months, was ordered to serve 6 days in jail, was placed on probation for 5 months, 24 days, assessed court costs and his driver’s license was revoked for 1 year. Richardson also pled guilty to Joyriding and received a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, 6 days in jail, was placed on probation for 11 months, 26 days and assessed court costs.

Richardson also pled guilty to two counts of Violation of the 18-20 Consumption law and received a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days on each count, equal time on probation, and was ordered to pay the court costs. In total Richardson will be on probation for 2 ? years.

• Michael Ray Thurmond pled guilty to three counts of Driving While License Suspended. Thurmond has been charged with that offense four times since April, most recently on July 17. On all three counts Thurmond received suspended sentences of 11 months, 29 days, was sentenced to serve 7 days in jail, and was placed on probation for 11 months, 22 days. He was fined $150 in one case and $100 on the other two. He was ordered to pay the court costs on all three cases. He will also lose his driving privileges for a period to be determined by the Tennessee Department of Safety.

• Martin Lee Black, 809 Twin Oak Dr., Murfreesboro, pled guilty to Criminal Trespass. He was arrested on July 19 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Brandon Gullett after he was asked four times to leave a residence on Morgan Ave., left, but returned shortly thereafter. He was given a 30 day suspended sentence, a 5 day jail sentence, 25 days on probation, and was assessed court costs.

• Steven Wayne Underwood, 1322 Pleasant Ridge Rd., Woodbury, pled guilty to Domestic Assault. He was charged on July 18 by Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Eric Moss after he hit the victim in the mouth. He received a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, was ordered to serve 90 days in jail, was placed on probation for 8 months, 29 days, and assessed court costs. He must also receive a Domestic Violence Inventory Assessment, have no contact with the victim, and stay away from the premises where the incident occurred.

• Randy Hall agreed to revocation for Violation of Probation. He was ordered to serve 30 days in jail and upon release will be back on probation for 10 months, 29 days.

• Jimmy Robinson pled guilty to two counts of Worthless Checks. He received partially suspended sentences of 11 months, 29 days on each count and was ordered to serve 3 days in jail. He was placed on probation for 11 months, 26 days and ordered to pay restitution and court costs. Robinson also pled guilty to Violation of Probation. He received a 30 days jail sentence and his probation was extended for 11 months, 16 days.

• Jeffery Lynn Davis pled guilty to Driving on a Suspended License 2nd Offense. He received a partially suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, equal probation time, 39 days in jail and was assessed court costs.

• Joshua M. Gilliam pled guilty to Reckless Driving. He received a 6 month suspended sentence, equal probation time, a $50 fine and was assessed court costs. Gilliam also pled guilty to Driving Without a License. He was given a 30 day suspended sentence, equal probation time, a $2 fine and assessed court costs. The sentences will run consecutively.

• Elliott Anthony Harris pled guilty to Driving Without a License. He received a 30 day suspended sentence, equal probation time, a $2 fine and was assessed court costs.

• Jacklyn Stormy Hayes pled guilty to Driving on Suspended License. She was given a 6 month suspended sentence, equal time on probation, fined $25 and assessed court cost. Her license was also suspended for a time to be determined by the Tennessee Department of Safety.

• Ricardo Hernandez entered into an agreed order of retirement for 11 months, 29 days for violation of the 18-20 Consumption Law and was assessed court costs.

• Jonathan Wayne Johnson entered into agreed orders of retirement for 6 months on charges of Assault and Public Intoxication. He must pay the Litigation Tax on both cases.

• Ricky Murphy admitted to guilt and entered into an agreed order of retirement for Hindering a Secured Creditor. He was order to pay the Litigation Tax.

• Arturo Guerrero Martinez pled guilty to No Driver’s License. He was fined $2, assessed court costs and placed on probation for 30 days.

• Shirley Ann Shannon pled no contest to Public Intoxication. Judge Melton found her guilty and have her a 30 day suspended sentence and equal time on probation. She received a 30 days suspended sentence, equal time on probation, and was assessed court costs.

• Angela Marie Steiner pled guilty to Theft (shoplifting). She received a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, equal probation time and was assessed court costs. She was also ordered to stay away from the Quick Shop Market.

• Jessica Whitworth Stephens pled guilty to Theft Under $500. She received a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, equal probation time, a $50 fine and was assessed court costs.

• Todd Alan Whitmore pled guilty to two counts of Driving on Suspended License 2nd Offense. On each count he received a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days, equal time on probation, was assessed court costs and will lose his driver’s license for a time to be determined by the Tennessee Department of Safety.

• Melissa Wilmouth pled guilty under judicial diversion to Simple Possession of Marijuana. She was placed on probation for 11 months, 29 days, fined $250 and assessed court costs.

• Martin Perez pled guilty to Underage Consumption. He was fined $100, assessed court costs, given a suspended sentence of 11 months, 29 days and equal probation time.

• Mark Wayne Peterson pled guilty to Driving on Suspended License 2nd Offense. Sentencing was set for Oct. 30.

• Haskell Dwayne Carmack pled guilty to Driving on Suspended License. Sentencing was set for Oct. 30.

• Maurice Randall Glimps pled guilty to Driving on Revoked License 1st Offense. Sentencing was set for Oct. 10.

• Connie Chapman Ashford had charges of DUI and Implied Consent law violation reset for Sept. 25. Chapman was arrested on a new DUI charge on July 20 by Woodbury Patrolman John Fesmire following a traffic stop on S. McCrary St. Court date in that case was also set for Sept. 25.

• Jonathan Dale Davis had charges of DUI, Simple Possession of Marijuana, Possession of Schedule II Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Implied Consent law reset for Aug. 21.

• Holly Rashey Belcher had charges of Driving on Suspended License 1st Offense and Violation of Probation reset for Aug. 28.

• Jimmie D. Bryan had a charge of DUI 1st Offense reset for Sept. 11.

• Mary Leonard Caetano had charges of Public Intoxication and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia reset for Sept. 25.

• Donald Lee Curlee had charges of DUI 1st Offense, Simple Possession of Marijuana and Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor reset for Sept. 25.

• Roy Michael Foust had charges of Violation of Probation (three counts) reset for Aug. 28.

• Jessica Layne Hammatt had a charge of Public Intoxication reset for Sept. 11.

• Elisabeth Ann Harris had a Petition for Contact (Domestic Assault) reset for Aug. 7.

• Thomas Edwards Pendergrast had charges of Violations of the Child Restraint and Financial Responsibility laws reset for Aug. 28.

• Jarrett Hopkins failed to appear on a charge of Driving On Revoked License and a Capias was issued for his arrest.

• Patricia House had a charge of DUI 2nd Offense reset for Sept. 25.

• Charles Edward Jakes had charges of Attempted Violation of Order of Protection and Violation of Order of Protection reset for Sept. 25.

• Mandi Jo Mathews had Possession of a Legend Drug and violations of the Seatbelt, Due Care and Medical Certificate laws charges reset for Aug. 28.

• Robert Michael Wimberly had reset for Sept. 18 charges of DUI 1st Offense, Possession of Schedule III Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Speeding (37/20).

• Anthony Tyler Young had charges of Spotlighting Deer, Hunting During Closed Season, Hunting Public Right of Way, Hunting From Motorized Craft dismissed at the request of the State.

• Timothy Daniel Meeks had charges of Violation of Probation reset for July 31.

• Justin James Kirkpatrick had charges of Driving on Suspended License and violations of Seatbelt, Registration and Financial Responsibility laws reset for Sept. 18.

• Rafael Castillo Medellin had a Violation of Probation charge reset for Oct. 30.

• Ashley Dawn Reiter had a  Driving on Suspended License charge reset for Sept. 18.

• Pleas Edward Schultz had a charge of DUI by Consent reset for Sept. 25.

• Gina E. Lowe failed to appear for a Retirement Review on a conviction for Fraudulent Receipt of EBT Card and a Capias was issued for her arrest.

• Misty Dawn Wilson failed to appear for Driving Without A License and a Show Cause Order was issued.

• Deborah Fran White (Palmer) had a charge of DUI 2nd Offense reset for Sept. 25.

• Kevin Michael Shovan had charges of Driving on Suspended License 1st Offense and Speeding (71/55) reset for Sept. 18.

• Pete Montana Simmons had a charge of Underage Driving While Impaired reset for a date to be determined.

• Jennie L. Sloan failed to appear for False Report (Retirement Review, costs not paid) and a Capias was issued for her arrest.

• Jonathan Jake Smith had charge of DUI 1st Offense and Open Container law reset for Sept. 25.
