Man Indicted By Grand Jury Faces More Charges

A man indicted by the Cannon County Grand Jury in February was taken into custody recently and also faced additional charges.

Randall C. Council, 130 McBroom St., Woodbury, was indicted by the grand jury on charges of selling a controlled substance and maintaining a dwelling to keep, use or sell drugs.

The indictment stemmed from an investigation by the Woodbury Police Department which began in August 2010, according to Woodbury Police Chief Tony Burnett.

Council was booked at the Cannon County Jail on May 3 after he was released from the Rutherford County Jail.

Once in custody he was also served three warrants each charging him with theft under $500. It is alleged that Council failed to returned items he rented from Potter’s ACE Hardware in February and March of 2010.

Council is scheduled to appear in Cannon County General Sessions Court on June 7 on the theft charges and in Circuit Court on June 10 in the drug charges.
