Man Hits Gas (Pump) And Goes



An Estill Springs man faces charges after an incident which took place at the Quick Stop Market on Sept. 6.

Woodbury Police Department Sgt. Kevin Mooneyham's report states "the defendant (Robert David Rose, 621 Westwood Lane, Estill Springs) was backing up in the parking lot of Quick Stop Market and while doing so did strike gas pump #3 with left rear bumper of his vehicle."

Mooneyham said Rose then left the scene of the accident, which was witnessed by Mooneyham and and Cannon County Sheriff's Deputy Randy Neal.

Rose was stopped by Mooneyham on South McCrary Street. Mooneyham observed Rose appeared to be unsteady on his feet and was asked to submit to a field sobriety test which he could not satisfactorily perform. Mooneyham reported Rose could not keep his balance while doing the tasks and would start tasks before being told to do so.

Mooneyham's report states that he could not smell or find any alcohol/drugs inside Rose's vehicle or on his person.

Rose was charged with DUI and leaving the scene of a property damage accident. Bond was set at $7,500. Initial court date is Oct. 12.

• Linda M. Pace, 47 Curlee Church Rd., Readyville, was charged with public intoxication by Deputy Reed Bryson on Sept. 13. According to Bryson's complaint report, Pace was found in a "highly intoxicated" condition on Curlee Church Rd., placing herself in danger and placing the general public in the vicinity in danger of unreasonable annoyance.

Bond was set at $1,000. Initial court date is Oct. 12.

• Chad Robert Fox, 1805 Blair Branch Road, Woodbury, was arrested on a charge of vandalism on Sept. 3. A warrant taken out by Tammara Dee Giornesto, 901 Saxton St., Saxton, PA alleges that on Sept. 22, 2009, Fox "did break the driver side window out of a freight liner truck and took the contents of the truck out and left them to the elements knowing he had no legal reason to do so. When confronted about the incident on Aug. 4, 2010 he (Fox) did admit to being the one who caused the damage to the vehicle and personal items."

Bond was set at $2,500. Initial court date is Sept. 28.

• William Joseph Arnold, 5622 Ragsdale Rd., Manchester, was charged with speeding by Woodbury Police Department Sgt. John Howse on Sept. 8. Arnold was clocked doing 81 mph in a 55 mph zone on John Bragg Highway at Over (Cross) the River Rd.

• Deputy Steve McMillen charged Larry James Hiles Jr., 362 West Lynn Dr., Manchester, with driving without proof of insurance on Highway 64 on Sept. 12.

• Deputy Randy Moss along with Deputy Travis Turney went to 101 West Laurel St., Woodbury, on Sept. 11 to serve an arrest warrant on Michael Hickman for bad checks.

• Allyson Elizabeth Parsley, 445 Hopewell Rd., Bradyville, reported the theft of a Artic Cat ATV to the CCSD on Sept. 3. The vehicle is valued at $6,000. Deputy Brandon Gullett took the report.

• Deputy Randy Moss was dispatched to 3283 Iconium Road, Woodbury, on Sept. 11 in regards to a burglary. He spoke with Alexander Webb, who stated that he left his home and went to town at about 12 a.m. and he got back home at about 1 a.m. Webb stated that when he arrived back home he found that his television, laptop computer and game station had been taken.

• Deputy Randy Neal went to 3907 Dickens Hill Rd., Woodbury, on Sept. 11 to see if he could make contact with Ila Kay Smith. Upon arrival he spoke with Deborah Smotherman who stated that Ila Smith was not at this residence. Neal saw a man in the house pointing out the back door. Deputy (Steve) McMillen and Neal went out to the barn in the back and saw Ila Smith in the back of a truck in the barn. Neal placed Smith under arrest for violation of probation and transported her to the sheriff's department for booking.

• Deputy Randy Neal went to 306 Crimson Tide Lane on Sept. 10 to see if he could make contact with Jennifer Deese. He spoke initially with Scott Deese, who said that Jennifer Deese was at the residence. Jennifer came outside and Neal advised her he had a warrant for her arrest for a worthless check. She was transported to the CCSD and booked.
