A Bradyville man who was already facing criminal charges picked up another one shortly after Christmas.

Randall C. Smotherman was charged with phone harassment on Dec. 28 by the Cannon County Sheriff's Department. According to the arrest warrant, Smotherman allegedly called the sheriff's department 27 times between Dec. 27 and Dec. 28, after being advised to stop calling. Bond was set at $1,500.

Smotherman is also facing charges stemming from a Dec. 9 incident during which deputies were called to his home by family members due to his violent behavior. He was charged with public intoxication and disorderly conduct.

Other recent arrests include:

• Darrell W. Gilreath, Woodbury, was charged with aggravated domestic assault on Jan. 1 by Deputy Zachery Smith of the Cannon County Sheriff's Dept. According to the arrest warrant, Gilreath states he "did not want to stab (the purported victim), but only wanted to hurt her to shut her up." Gilreath allegedly stabbed the purported victim in the hand and held a knife to her throat. Bond was set at $5,000. Initial court date is Feb. 6.

• Caden Kensley Jones, Woodbury, was charged with public intoxication on Dec. 20 by Patrolman Joshua Thomas of the Woodbury Police Dept. According to the arrest warrant, Jones was confused about where he was and had fallen and cut his forehead. Bond was set at $1,000.

• Nathanial G. Wanner, Woodbury, was charged with two counts of possession of a Schedule II drug (cocaine and methamphetamine) and with violations of the registration and financial responsibility laws on Dec. 22 by the Cannon County Sheriff's Department. The charges stemmed from a traffic stop on Judge Purser Hill Rd. Deputies had initially been called to Wanner's resident following a report of a possible physical domestic assault. They learned en route that Wanner had left the residence. Wanner granted deputies permission to search his vehicle. A small baggy containing a white powdery substance was located under the driver's seat, the report states. Wanner was taken into custody. Initial court date is Feb. 6.

• Shannon Kay Campbell, Murfreesboro, was charged with criminal trespass on Dec. 21 by the Cannon County Sheriff's Department. Deputy Tonya Holland responded to a complaint of a woman, Campbell, sitting in the living room of the complainant, who said she had never seen her before. Deputy Holland when to the residence along with the complainant and her landlord. Deputy Holland looked through the window and saw a woman lying on the couch. The situation was complicated by the presence of the complainant's dog. Once Deputy Holland was unable to make contact with Campbell she stated she had walked to the residence but did not know why or who she was there to see. After a check of the house, during which only minor damage to a door knob was discovered, Campbell was transported to Stones River Hospital for an examination. She was given medical clearance and transported to the Cannon County Jail for booking. Initial court date is Feb. 6.

• Isaac Daniel Riley, Woodbury, was charged with criminal trespassing on Dec. 17 by the Cannon County Sheriff's Department. The complainant alleges Riley entered her residence without her consent. Initial court date is March 21.
