Cannon County Sheriff’s Deputy Matthew Parsley responded to the area of Eugene Reed Road on Aug. 16 for a report of a vehicle crash.
Upon arrival he observed a vehicle in a field that had hit a mailbox and fence before coming to a stop.
Witnesses at the scene stated a male subject had gotten out of the wrecked vehicle and was picked up by someone driving an SUV-type vehicle with a fog light out.
Deputy Seth Perry canvassed the area but did not find a vehicle matching that description.
Woodbury Auto Salvage was called to retrieve the vehicle. A hold was placed on it while the incident is under investigation.
Jerry Young, property owner, stated under $400 in damage was done to the mailbox and fence.
