Macie Thelma Johnson Davis

Services for Macie Thelma Johnson Davis, 89, will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Pastor Gerald Fillman officiating. Burial will follow at Amity Cemetery.

Visitation is 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Woodbury Funeral Home. Mrs. Davis died Friday, Feb. 21, 2014 at the home of her daughter in Sugar Valley, Ga.

Survivors include her daughters, Kathy (Randy) Pires and Sharon Evans, both of Sugar Valley, GA, her sister, Veeda Whitt of Springboro, OH, brothers, Bryson Johnson of Woodbury and John Johnson of Hobert, IN; daughter-in-law, Herlinda Davis of McEwen, TN; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Johnson and Nancy Grimes Johnson; her husband, Martin Davis; her son, Darrell Davis; and grandson, Kent Stenberg.

A member of the Calhoun, GA Seventh Day Adventist Church, she was also a former member of the Woodbury Seventh Day Adventist congregation. She was a wonderful wife and mother who loved to cook for her family. Later in life after she raised her children, she worked with her husband, Martin, at the Review and Herald Publisher in Maryland.

Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
