Mabel Cook Wheeler, 85, of Murfreesboro, died Saturday, June 26, 2010 following an extended illness. A native of Cannon Co., her parents were the late Clarse and Zettie Pittman Markum.

Services will be held 10 a.m. Monday in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Riverside Gardens. Visitation with the family will be 3 PM until 9 PM Sunday.

She is survived by her children, Joe D. Cook of Readyville; Frank D. (Sissy) Cook of Hermitage; Debbie (Ron) Demonbreun and Kathy Cook Byford both of Murfreesboro and Gary (Lisa) Cook of Mt. Juliet; 3 brothers, Frank (Margaret) Markum of Cookeville, Ray (Jan) Markum of Manchester and Mike (Sarah) Markum of Smithville; Sister, Billie Fay Young of Garden City, MI. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

A member of the Church of Christ, she was a retired business owner.
