Lu Ann Curlee announces her candidacy for election to Alderman of the Town of Woodbury. Lu Ann's grandfather, Pharis M. Conley, served 3 consecutive terms as sheriff and as the first General Sessions Judge. Lu Ann's grandmother, Dessie Conley, taught 30 years in the Cannon County School System. Her Curlee grandparents, Eph and Jimmie White Curlee, owned a farm and made their living in this county. Lu Ann's parents owned a CPA firm in Knoxville before moving back to Cannon County.

Lu Ann runs a small CPA practice from her home on College Street. She also works at the Adams Memorial Library as a public service librarian. Lu Ann has one daughter and shares the College Street house with her mother, Ruth Conley Curlee.

Lu Ann Curlee has prior experience being Alderman having served twice, from 1996 to 2000 and from 2004 to 2008. Once elected her prior experience as Alderman will enable her to quickly become familiar with the city government and her experience as a CPA will give her the expertise to understand city finances and budgeting.

Public service is very important to Lu Ann and she finds helping people, either as a CPA or a librarian, very satisfying. "As a taxpayer I expect my elected officials to treat my money with respect and take action that is well considered and as fair as possible to all the citizens. That's what I will do when I'm elected."

"Many people don't bother to register to vote, or to vote if they are registered, because they feel as if their vote is meaningless and their voice will be unheard. The primary reason I'm running for local office is to be a voice for those who feel muffled or silenced."

Lu Ann has opened a Facebook page Lu Ann Curlee for Alderman and she has an email address LuAnn4Alderman@gmail.com so the people of Woodbury can contact her to discuss issues or ask questions. In this digital age it's difficult to reach people solely by phone and she wants to be as accessible as possible. "I urge you to register to vote before the October 10 deadline, and even if you don't cast your vote for me, please cast it for someone."

Please vote, during early voting from October 19 to November 3 and on election day, November 8, for Lu Ann Curlee for Alderman.

Thank you for your vote and your support
