Lions Make Life Unbearable For Tigers



GORDONSVILLE — Cannon County's basketball teams hit the road Monday night for the second of four consecutive road match-ups, and both the Lionettes and Lions came home with victories.

Emily Sissom led the Cannon County girls with 26 points in their 75-43 win over the Lady Tigers. It was the 19th win over the season for the Lionettes against only one loss.

Cannon County dominated from the start, grabbing a 34-6 lead at the end of the first quarter and extending it to 48-20 at the half. The Lionettes held a commanding 64-34 edge after three.

The Lions also started strong, leading 24-15 after one quarter and extending their advantage to 43-32 at intermission. Cannon County increased its lead to 13 by the end of the third quarter, 57-44, and went on to take a 73-60 win as four players scored in double digits.
