TONY STINNETT/Courier Sports Editor LEWISBURG - Even though it was a jamboree and the result didn’t count, Cannon County’s football team showed its fans times are different in Woodbury during a 7-7 tie against Cornersville in the Marshall County Jamboree Friday (Aug. 16). A.J. Daniel scored on a 14-yard keeper, sprung by a great block by left tackle Daniel Davis. “We put together two good quarters,” Daniel said. “We have shown we can move the ball in the preseason. Now we have to do it when it counts.” Cannon County’s defense was solid throughout the contest. B.J. Daniel hauled in an interception and had a critical fourth-down stop early in the second quarter of action. The Lions held Cornersville to 27 yards rushing in the two quarters of action and held them out of the end zone for more than 20 minutes. Cannon County surrendered more than 40 points per contest in 2012.
