Cannon County’s softball team will have to come out of the loser’s bracket in the 8-AA Tournament.
The Lionettes (17-18) won the tournament opener, 4-3, against Livingston Academy, but dropped a 10-1 decision to DeKalb County in the second round.

Macy Williams’ RBI double in the bottom of the seventh scored Kristen Hale with the winning run against the Wildcats in an intense game.

Molly Williams was 1-for-2 with two RBI and a triple. Livia Walker, Cheyenne Fann and Ally Parton all had one hit for the Lionettes.

Hale pitched seven innings of six-hit ball for the win, striking out nine. Things didn’t go as well against DeKalb. The Lionettes went up 1-0 in the top of the first and gave up 10 unanswered runs.
DeKalb took the win out of the sails with a four-run first inning and then tacked on two more in the second to take control.

Kallie McCrary, Fann, Hale and Molly Williams each had one hit for the Lionettes.
Molly Williams tripled and scored the team’s only run on a RBI double off of the bat of McCrary.
