On March 18, 2003 Jack and Michelle Browning welcomed to the world a little miracle. They named her Jani Alexis “Lexi” Browning.
Over the next nine years they watched their little baby girl grow and develop into her own personality: independent, witty, loving, compassionate, and having a big heart are some of the few words you could use to describe her.
Lexi has a close loving relationship with her family and friends. She has a way to put a smile on anyone’s face. Not only is she loving toward people, she has a love and compassion for animals.
At a tender age of 8 months, she was on her first horse, saddled up with her mom and dad which seemed to be the beginning of a special bond they all share, the love for horses. Raising and riding horses has been a norm in her family, a special hobby they all share. She now has her very own horse, Crook, which she enjoys riding and spending time with.
Sharing the love she has for the outdoors and animals, she has become a part of a lot of people’s lives, both young and old. Whether she met them riding or camping or the friends she has made at her school, Woodland Elementary, with both teachers and students or her church family at Centerhill Baptist Church, she has already touched so many lives at just nine yeas old.
On June 9, 2012 this very active, healthy, outgoing girl was stricken with a life threatening sitution.
Out of what seemed nowwhere she had suddenly gone into cardiac arrest. By the grace of God she was stablilized and given a chance to continue touching other’s lives.
She was transferred to Vanderbilt where she spent some time and it was then she was diagnosed with Restrictive Cardiomyopathy, a rare disease of the heart muscle that prevents the heart from contracting properly. At this time their is no treatment or medication for her condition.
Lexi’s only option is a heart transplant.
On June 25, 2012 she was officially listed to receive a new heart when one becomes available. She and her family now patiently await.
