Letter: Council servants not masters

To the Editor

Let's see if I have this straight. Four of our hired hands on the Town Council have hired the least qualified applicant and have done so contrary to the Town's written employment policy because they don't have anything against the more qualified candidate who is presently a town employee. I don't know about anyone else but that pegged out my B.S. meter. I have vague, possibly inaccurate memory of running across something similar to this in the Alice books.
Here's the thing guys. As members of the town council you are the servants and not the masters. You would do well to remember that. Perhaps it's time the four of you were promoted back to master.
