Larry "Joe" Simmons

Larry “Joe” Simmon, 64, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

A native of Cannon County, he lived in Woodbury.

He was a member of the Simmons Chapel Methodist Churchand was retired from the Cannon Co. Hwy. Dept after 38 years. He loved to farm and work with mules.

Survivors:

Wife: Barbara Gooch Simmons of Woodbury

Step-Son: Terent (Kimmie) Chester of Unionville, TN.

Grandson: Cole Chester of Unionville, TN.

Brother: James (Sherry) Simmons of Woodbury

Aunts & Uncles: Sue (James) Knox, Bobby (Martha) Barrett, Leo Barrett & Bragg Barrett all of Woodbury; Nell Milligan of Hendersonville, Forest & Joyce Shollenberger of Gassaway,

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harrison Simmons & Rachel Barrett Graham.

Funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2012 with Bro. Scott Clark & Bro. Gayle Rains officiating.

Interment will be in Cherry Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. Saturday, August 25, 2012.
