Kevin George Again Asks Support For District 3 County Commissioner
I am Kevin George and I would once again like to ask for your support for District 3 County Commissioner. Katina Foster George, my wife of 17 years, and I have 3 children, Nathan Ray, Benjamin Cole and Cassie Marie George. We live on Whippoorwill Road in the Woodland community. I attended Woodland Grammar School, graduated from Cannon County High in 1988, attended Tennessee Vocational Technology School and began working for Bridgestone/Firestone in February of 1990. Tina and I operate a small gun shop and feed a few calves. We also enjoy watching our children play ball and taking them camping.

I have been blessed with a large family, from whom I draw a wealth of experience and knowledge. Their unwavering support gives me the confidence to know, that through hard work I can accomplish any task set before me. I learned from my parents and grandparents the difference between right and wrong, and they gave me the strength to do what’s right, even when it isn’t easy. They also taught me the importance of being involved in my community. “If you’re not going to do it yourself, don’t fuss about how someone else does it”. When I asked my Granddad about running the first time, he told me “If I was going to run for commissioner, I would run to win, and when I got there, I’d Be One!” I have done my best to “Be One”.

We live in a community where everyone works together to make it the best place to make a home, raise children and grow old. Our school is filled with caring, hardworking teachers who love our children as if they were their own. Our Volunteer Fire Dept. works tirelessly to ensure we have the best possible fire protection and never hesitates to come when we need help of any kind. Most important, there are those who are always there to guide us when we aren’t sure which way to turn.

There are many issues we must address. Our schools need updating so our children don’t fall behind. Our Fire Dept. is still way below state standards. Our jail is overcrowded and getting old. These issues, along with many more, must be dealt with without expecting our seniors on fixed incomes to pay for it. You and I, together, can deal with these issues. You and I, together, can ensure that our community continues to be the best place to make a home, raise children and grow old.

I would like to thank you all, for the overwhelming support you have given me in my first term as District 3 Commissioner. I have been encouraged by your dedication and humbled by your confidence in me. I would also like to take this opportunity to ask for your vote on August 5th.
