Mr. Kenneth Ray Robinson, Sr., 52, of Shelbyville Tennessee, passed away on June 12, 2011. He was born August 31, 1958 in Kansas City, Kansas to Nathaniel Eugene Robinson, Sr. and Minnie Lee (Anderson) Robinson and the youngest of seven siblings. He is preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Charles A. Belton.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Elaine Robinson (Shelbyville TN), two brothers; Raymond K. Robinson (Lenexa, KS) and Nathaniel E. (Anna) Robinson, Jr. (Kansas City, MO), three sisters; Eliza M. Bussey (Kansas City, MO); Reginia T. Jarrett (Kansas City, KS) and Alicia F. (Myron) Nevels (Olathe, KS), three sons; Kenneth Ray Robinson, Jr. (LaVergne, TN), Aris Cortez (Poui) Robinson (Smyrna, TN), and Kenyon Edward Robinson (LaVergne, TN), one daughter; Ciara Kay (Jeffrey) Pincourt (LaVergne, TN), one stepdaughter; Amanda (Agustin) Vassar (Shelbyville, TN), one aunt; Sadie Robinson (Leavenworth, KS), two grandsons; Jeffrey, Jr., and Jordan; three grand-daughters; Ana’A Dahla, Aliyah Nangfa, and Akayla Savanth, and one step-grandson, Justin Yandel Clemente, A “special couple” Willie & Willie Ann Brantley, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Robinson served in the National Guard, 137th Infantry for six years. He attended Victory Baptist Church and enjoyed being outdoors. His favorite pastime was cooking on the grill, weight lifting and working out.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2011 from 10 am until 12 noon at Smith Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow in the Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Pastor Doug Martin, Officiating. Interment; Gilley Hill Cemetery.
