Kenneth O. Parker



Kenneth O. Parker, 88, died Friday, October 21, 2011 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center.

Mr. Parker was a farmer and a member of the Ivy Bluff Methodist Church. He was the chairman of the building committee of Woodland School, President of American Polled Hereford Assoc., Chairman of Soil Conservation, President of TN Farm Bureau and an honorary member of MTSU Block & Bridle Club. He and his brother Houston were Pioneers of Hereford Breeders.

A Cannon County native, he lived in Bradyville.

Survivors include his children, Kathy (Quindy) Robertson of Hartsville, David (Paula) Parker of Bradyville and Mark (Melanie) Parker of Bradyville; grandchildren, Jared and Amanda Robertson, Krista (Lynn) Trail, Angela (Don) Moore, Justin (Jessica) Parker, Emily (Travis) Denton, Cody Parker; great grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Kathryn Trail, D.J. and Abigail Moore; and caregivers, Cindy Green and Betty Melton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert L. and Myrtle Swanger Parker and his wife, DeLois Elam Parker.

Funeral services will be held at Ivy Bluff Methodist Church at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 23, 2011 with Bro. Danny Freeman officiating.  

Burial will be in Ivy Bluff Cemetery.

Visitation is from 4 to 9 p.m. Saturday, October 22 at Woodbury Funeral Home and Sunday from 1 to 3 p.m. at Ivy Bluff Methodist Church.

Pallbearers: Jared Robertson, Bryan, Justin and Cody Parker; Lynn trail, Don Moore, Ben Cain and Travis Denton.

Honorary Pallbearers: Great Grandchildren, Kaitlynn and Kathryn Trail, D.J. and Abigail Moore.
