Kennedy named schools' CTE director

Cannon County Director of Schools William F. Curtis has named Mrs. Crystal Kennedy to be the new CTE (Career Technical Education) Director for Cannon County Schools. The position became available upon the advancement of former CTE Director Courtney Nichols being named as Cannon County High School Principal.

Curtis stated, "Mr. Nichols has been an integral part of the team at Cannon County Schools for the past several years. He leaves large shoes to fill as he has done an outstanding job in his role as Agriculture Teacher and CTE Director. His exceptional skills will be well utilized in his role as CCHS Principal and improvements are already underway at the school."

Mrs. Crystal Kennedy is an eleven-year veteran of Cannon County High School. She has a Bachelor's Degree and Master's Degree in Business Education from Middle Tennessee State University, and she has served as Business Education/CTE Teacher and Work Based Learning Coordinator since 2007 at the school. Her certifications include TEAM Evaluation Training, Work Based Learning Coordinator Training, Virtual Enterprise Coordinator Training, and Mrs. Kennedy is a certified Microsoft Office Specialist.

Director Curtis stated the following, "I am very excited to have Mrs. Kennedy and her expertise at the district level. She is a proven veteran educator and has been directly involved and given multiple responsibilities within the CTE program and Cannon County High School. I am very appreciative of her willingness to be part of the team to achieve our mission in Cannon County Schools to be the NEW E3 = 'Engaged in Excellence Every Day!' and our aspirations to have the best CTE program in the Upper Cumberland."
