KaBoom! Volunteers from Cannon County and across Middle Tennessee gathered Saturday, April 8 to build a new playground at Woodbury Grammar School.

The playground is the 15th built by BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Health Foundation and KaBOOM!. Through this partnership, more children will have the joyful childhood they deserve. BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee Health Foundation supports KaBOOM! in promoting and protecting a child's right to active play at home, at school and in the community.

Katrina Bitanga of KaBoom! was project manager for the effort which culminated in a day-long push to completely rebuild the school's playground.
The new, colorful playground brings the 430 students at WGS one step closer to having the play-filled childhood they deserve. The playspace is designed for balanced and active play and to make Woodbury more "playable."

The playground's design is based on children's drawings created at a special design event held last February.

Since 1996, KaBOOM! has been dedicated to the bold goal of giving all kids - particularly those growing up in poverty in America - the childhood they deserve, filled with balanced and active play, so they can thrive.
