July 17: Canning College For Beginners

Two sessions of our Canning College will be held at the James E. Ward Ag Center, Education Building; July 17 at 6:00 p.m. for Jams, Jellies, and/or Fruit and July 19 at 6:00 p.m. for Vegetables.

The Canning College class size is limited to 10 participants. Charge for Canning College is $25.00 per class which includes supplies for class, one product of each recipe for student, copy of UT Extension publication, Canning Foods, and valuable information.  Deadline for pre-registration and pre-payment is the Friday before class.  Please sign-up at the Wilson Farmer’s CO-OP, 615-444-5212 with Renee Tanner. Are you a first time canner? Have you thought about learning to can Jams, Jellies, Vegetables, or other foods? Would you like to learn the basics of canning? Then plan to attend two sessions of our Canning College this year held at the James E. Ward Ag Center, Education Building; July 17 at 6:00 p.m. for Jams, Jellies, and/or Fruit and July 19 at 6:00 p.m. for Vegetables.

The Canning College class size is limited to 10 participants. Participants will take home various items that they have canned in both workshops! This is a great class for experienced canners who may need to be updated on food safety and for parents and grandparents who would like to teach a 4-H aged child who may attend at no cost. You will leave with products and new, delicious canning, recipes.
