PrintJuanita Grissim, age 78, passed away Wednesday May 23, 2012 at NHC Healthcare Center in Smithville.
She was a member at Liberty United Methodist Church and a cook at DeKalb West School for 9 years. Mrs. Grissim was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Myler Vickers Dodd; first husband, Jimmy Paul Gunter; brother, Clyde Dodd; sister, Alvena Dodd.
She is survived by her husband, Walter J. Grissim of Liberty; children, Tammy and her husband Robert Smith of Alexandria, Steve Gunter and his companion Lois Horn of Smithville, Joe and his wife Penny Gunter of the Short Mountain Community; grandchildren, John and Nick Smith, Tina and Jennifer Gunter, Josh Gunter, Jason Gunter, Emily Hall; great-grandchildren, Rebecca Gunter, Zack and Rick Gunter, DaKota Gunter, Austin and Katlyn Smith, McKenzie Hall; sister, Jean Mayo of Gassaway.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday May 26, 2012 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel at 1:PM with Bro. Michael Hale officiating with burial to follow in Sycamore Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 11 AM until 8 PM and Saturday from 9 AM until time of the service at 1:PM at the funeral home.
