32 year old Jonathan Scurlock of Smithville died Monday at Saint Thomas DeKalb Hospital.

He was an Assistant Chief of the Short Mountain Fire Department and Rescue Squad for Cannon County.

He also worked for Middle Tennessee Natural Gas in Woodbury.

The funeral will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Dewayne Cornelius will officiate and burial will be in the Banks Cemetery.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. until 8 p.m.; Thursday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m.; and Friday from 9 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m.

He is survived by his parents, Jeff and Debbie Scurlock of Smithville. Sister and sister-in-law, Crystal Scurlock and Dana Holland of McMinnville. Grandmother, Ruth Scurlock of Smithville. Special cousin Claire Caldwell. Several aunts, uncles, and cousins, and firefighter and rescue squad family. In addition to flowers, make donations in memory of Jonathan to the Short Mountain Fire Department of Cannon County.
