Join us for  holiday fun when  The Arts Center of Cannon County presents the downright hilarious “The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee” December 7-22

At The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, six young people overseen by grown-ups who barely managed to escape childhood themselves, struggle to find their place in the world in this hilarious musical comedy. Despite lofty parental expectations, six-syllable words, and the pangs of puberty, these six kids with a worship of words discover how to spell S-U-C-C-E-S-S as they learn that winning isn't everything and that losing doesn't necessarily make you a loser. Some of the lucky audience members will be chosen to compete on-stage, spelling "taradiddle," "slobberknocker," or even "poppysmic." themselves.

Directed by Robert Hiers, this show features Arts Center favorites Mike Reed, Michael McGee, David Winton, and Matthew Hunter. Rounding out this talented cast are Diane Bearden-Enright, Kate Byrd, Tricia Todd Marisa Davila, and Josh Issac.

"Holiday dinner theatre shows have become annual events for many area businesses and organizations," states Donald Fann, executive director of the Arts Center.
