John Morris McCollum



John Morris McCollum died February 9, 2011. Morris was born April 26, 1935 and was a native of Mt. Pleasant. He resided in Nashville for many years before moving to Woodbury. He was member of Centertown Presbyterian Church.

Morris is predeceased by his wife, Malinda Parker McCollum, his parents, Johnnie E. and Annie Calvert McCollum, and a sister, Beatrice “Bea” McCollum.  

He is survived by 3 sisters, Caroline (Joe) Nance of Mt. Pleasant, Lucy (Jerry) Church of Columbia and Shirley McNatt of Waynesboro; one niece, Starlyn (Lee) Bailey, and four nephews, Chance Church, Scottie (Dawn) Nance, Stan (Delores) McNatt and Tim (Tammy) McNatt.
 
Funeral services will be held at 1 pm on Monday, February 14th at the Woodbury First United Methodist Church with Blake Stephens officiating.  The family will visit with friends from 11 am until the time of the service at the church.  Burial will follow at Gilley Hill Cemetery.  Phillips-Robinson Funeral Home (Nashville) in charge of services – (615) 262-3312.
 
Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy and Linda Malone, Charles and Nora Crabtree, Elmer Freeze, Mr. & Mrs. Buddy Davenport, James and Delma Helton, Heather Black, Barbara Black, Mac and Betty Neely, Betty Killion, Robert and Missy Baxter and Members of Centertown Presbyterian Church.  

Active Pallbearers will be Scottie Nance, Chance Church, Devan Nance, Lee Bailey, Joe Nance and Jerry Church.  Morris’ sisters would like to thank all of his friends and church members for their love and dedication and care they gave to him.  Memorial donations in remembrance of Morris are suggested to either Centertown Presbyterian Church or The Woodbury First United Method Church.
