John Mark Highland passed away to his eternal rest on Monday, August 6, 2012 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center. He was 53.
A resident of Murfreesboro, he was born in Pontiac, IL.
He is survived by his dedicated and loving sister, Linda K. Lewis and her husband, Ed of Murfreesboro and loving niece and nephews: Kayla, Kevin and Ken Lewis.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard Celestial Highland and Helen Ruth Becker Highland.
A special thanks to Dr. Mbu, Dr. Pakakla, Dr. Bullock, all nurses and staff on 5E, Critical care, respiratory therapy and Caris Hospice for their tender loving care and compassion.
John had a special smile and love for everybody he came in touch with, which will be greatly missed. His favorite hobby was making hook latch rugs, going on trips and being with his family, whom he adored.
Funeral services will be held at Franklin Rd. Baptist Church at 10:00 AM Saturday Aug. 11, 2012 with Dr. Mike Norris officiating.
Burial will be in Parker Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10 at Franklin Rd. Baptist Church.
