Joe W. Rogers, 82, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at his home following an extended illness. He was a native of Cannon Co.

He is survived by his children, Robert (Tonya) Rogers of Manchester, Marsha (Jeff) McMahan of Murfreesboro, Elisha (Jeff) Neiswender of Dallas, GA., Tracy (Von) Moore of Manchester; Grandchildren, Hannah Rogers, Mallory Rogers, Samuel Rogers, Betsy Cooper, Andrew McMahan, Will & Jordan Neiswender and Trenton Moore; Siblings, Ovie Hollis and Jackie Rogers of Woodbury, Jean Matthews, Joyce Harris and Martha Rogers of Pensacola, FL., Lynda Strickland, Cathy Brandon and Mark Rogers all of Murfreesboro, Joan Bryson of Lebanon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence Rogers and Lois Knox Rogers; his wife, Mary Higgins Rogers and his siblings, Hazel Beck, Ray Rogers and Gail Rogers.

Mr. Rogers was a member of the Woodbury Church of Christ and a veteran of the U.S. Navy. He was a Carpenter, Antique Collector and Cannon Co. Trustee from 1974 until he retired in 2002. Joe was a family man who loved his children, grandchildren, brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be 1 pm Thursday, January 14, 2016 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Al Bugg, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Riverside Gardens. Visitation with the family will be from 10:30 am until 8 pm Wednesday, January 13, 2016.
