Graveside services for Mr. Joe Dudley “J.D.” Lewis, age 73, of Morrison, will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at McMahan Church of Christ.

Burial will follow in the McMahan Cemetery in Cannon County.

Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of service at the church. Mr. Lewis passed away on Monday, September 26.

Mr. Lewis was born in Woodbury, TN, the son of the late Stanley and Jane Todd Lewis. He was a graduate of Woodbury Central High School and later, Nashville Auto Diesel College. He was a farmer and a businessman in the retail grocery industry. He was also a member of the National Guard and later, the Army and Air Force. He was a member of the McMahan Church of Christ.

Mr. Lewis is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Shirley Ann Cook Lewis; two daughters, Sandra (Chuck) Christie of Holdrege, NE and Fancie (Curtis) Ely of Woodbury; one brother, Dean Lewis of Murfreesboro; two sisters, Janet “Wayne” Prater of Woodbury and Dalphia (Joe) Parsley of Fayetteville; three grandchildren, Savannah Ely, Adam Christie, and Jon Christie; and several nieces and nephews.
