Jerry Wayne “Burrhead” McCoy
Monday, August 12, 2013 2:34 pm Jerry Wayne “Burrhead” McCoy, 57, died Sunday, August 11, 2013 at his home. A native of Rutherford County, he was a member of the Grace Assembly Church in Woodbury, and retired from Paratheon Metals. He was a veteran of Vietnam serving in the Army. He was preceded in death by his father, James Andrew McCoy; his wife, Sandra McCoy and his brother, Bobby McCoy. Survivors include his mother, Mattie Hall Carrigan of Murfreesboro; daughter, Shannon (Caleb) Lassiter of Murfreesboro; 2 step children, Tommy Furgason of Woodbury and Christian Furgason of Shelbyville; siblings, Deborah Gilley of Woodbury and Jeff McCoy of Nashville; step brothers, Ernest and Donnie Brinkley, both of Murfreesboro; half sister, Sherry Carrigan of Beech Grove; half brothers, Jackie Carrigan of Beech Grove and ronnie Carrigan of Murfreesboro; 7 grandchildren, Ryleigh and Brody Lassiter, Kayla, Bethany and Hannah McCrary and Devon and Joseph Furgason. Funeral services are Tuesday, August 13 at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Assembly Church with Bro. Dwight Smitty and Bro. Robert Douglas officiating. Burial is in McMahan Cemetery.
