Jerry Clifton Franklin, 65, died at his home in Woodbury on Nov. 22, 2009, following an extended illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 .m. on Saturday, Nov. 28, in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Earthman officiating. Interment will follow in Gilley Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be Friday from 3-9 p.m. at Woodbury Funeral Home.

A native of Coffee County, Mr. Franklin was a Navy veteran who served during the Vietnam War, and a retired butcher.

Survivors include his wife of 41 years, Bernice Hicks Franklin of Woodbury; three children, Melanie (Scott) Celand of California, John Allen (Karen) Franklin of Somerset, KY and Sally Rose (Dan) Gaither of Brea, KY; nine grandchildren, Rebecca, Bailee and Haylee Grace Franklin, Josh Vanhook, Jordyn Gaither, Allyson and Sara Gaither, Ben and Cameron Cleland; siblings, Jean Floyd of Ft. Myers, FL, J.T. Franklin of Manchester, Kenneth Don Franklin of Bradyville and Doyle Lee Franklin of Elkhart, IN.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William Hugh and Grace York Franklin, brothers William and Harvey Franklin, and sister Geraldine Petgen.

Active pallbearers will be Greg Hicks, Todd, Greg, Hugh, Jeff and Timmy Franklin, Gary Wayne Floyd and Doyle Franklin Jr.
