Jerrell Basil Phillips, 68, of Murfreesboro died Tuesday, September 22, 2009 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center in Murfreesboro following an extended illness.
Mr. Phillips, a native of Cannon County, was a member of the Church of Christ and retired manager of A&M Trucking.
Survivors include three children: Kelle (David) Tuggle of Hermitage, Kim Phillips of Hermitage and Mark (Jessica) Phillips of Lexington, KY; five sisters: Captola Bell of Fayetteville, Mozelle Page of McMinnville, Shirley Vance of Murfreesboro, Wilma Harris of Auburntown and Reba Denny of Woodbury; mother of his children, Arlene Phillips of Goodlettsville; three grandchildren, Rachel Tuggle and Emma and Evan Phillips; and a grand dog, Cash.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Wiley Hoyte Phillips and Ila J. Bell Phillips, brothers J.D. and Hoyte Phillips and sisters Vita Brazzell and Louise Smith.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26 at Woodbury Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Roland Sharp officiating.
