Jean Adams Keathley, 70, passed away Saturday, July 16, 2011 after a 28 year battle with cancer. She was the daughter of the late John P. and Minnie Lee Adams.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, James O. Keathley; three children, Alice Adams Pack, William Belt Keathley and Elizabeth Woods Keathley; sister, Harriet Lee Moore and three grandchildren. A Memorial Celebration of her life will be held at her beloved Valhalla Farm on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 2:30 PM.

She is remembered for many civic and philanthropic activities. She and her husband, Jim and daughter, Elizabeth conducted the Cannon Carriage Classic for several years which benefited many Cannon County activities and charities. She was active in Tennessee politics and served on the Tennessee Arts Commission. She was a recipient of the 1998 Governor's Award in The Arts.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Alive Hospice, Carriage Association of America, American Driving Society or organizations or charities of ones choice. Mrs. Keathley will be dearly missed. She was a wonderful neighbor, very kind and caring, and always lended a helping hand, or words of suggestion.
