James Henry Thompson, died Saturday, October 4, 2014 at Centennial Medical Center. He was a native of Ft. Oglethorpe, Georgia and a retired custodian at Crane and Colonial. He was a member of the church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Rita Phillips Thompson of Woodbury; Daughter, Tina (Michael) Hillis of McMinnville; Mother, Lela Pearl Grant Thompson of Ooltewah; Grandson, Jordyn Hillis of McMinnville; Sister, Carolyn (Lamar) Winston of Ooltewah.
He was preceded in death by his father, Odie Edward Thompson, and his parents-in-law, Alice Phillips & Everett Phillips, Jr.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at the Chapel of the Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Jason Gann officiating. Interment will follow at Prater Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM Monday, October 6, 2014 at Woodbury Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Woodbury Funeral Home to help the family with funeral expenses.
