James Allen Parker

James Allen Parker, 88, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on the 20th of March, 2016. He was born on Sept. 8th, 1927 to Shelia H. and Vernie Lou Hale Parker in DeKalb Co. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his

brothers, Shelia H. Jr. and Jackie Parker, sisters, Jean Parker Richardson and Billie Parker Grizzle.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Catherine Davis Parker of Woodbury; Children, Ronald (Sharon) Parker of Woodbury, Larry (Mae Rollins) Parker of McMinnville, Jeff (Tammy) Parker of Readyville and Pattie (Paul) Howard of Murfreesboro; Step Children, Clyde Alvin (Penny) Davis, II and Cheryl (Jerry) Edwards Both of Cleveland; Brother: John Henry (Edna Ruth) Parker of Watertown; Sisters, Jessie Mae Ferrell of Woodbury, Elizabeth "T" (Dave) Burnette of Bradyville and Joyce (Jim) Speakman of Murfreesboro; Grandchildren: Tabitha Parker, Tracy Parker, Layra Crook, Darrek Harley Parker, Tayler Thompson, Jamie Hill, Michael Hill, Brittany Ramirez, Alicia Cardona & Lindsey Prok, 2 step grandchildren, Andrea Todd Cathey and Nathan Todd, a number of great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shelia H. & Vernie Lou Hale Parker; sisters, Jean Parker Richardson and Billie Parker Grizzle. He will be missed by his little boy Cricket and his granddog, Tadpole.

A member of the Woodbury Church of God, he was a heavy equipment operator and a farmer.

Funeral services will be 12 noon Thursday, March 24, 2016 in the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Clayton Neal and Bro. Leonard Herman officiating. Pallbearers include Layne Ferrell, J.D. Underhill, Ronnie Walker, Scotty Grizzle, Richard York, Darrek Parker, Wesley Wright, Clyde McCord. Interment will follow in the Hale Cemetery, DeKalb Co. Visitation with the family will be 4 pm until 8 pm Wednesday, March 23, 2016.
