Graveside services for J.L. Parton, 80, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, March 15, 2013, at Leoni Cemetery.

 Mr. Parton worked many years in the insurance business and also in construction. He was a member of the Leoni Church of Christ.

 Visitation will be held after 2 p.m. Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Woodbury Funeral Home.

 A Cannon County native, he died Monday, March 11, 2013, at NHC-Murfreesboro.

 Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Lucille Melton Parton of Woodbury; children, Hugh (Rebecca) Parton and Virginia (Tim) Howell, both of Woodbury; siblings, Ellen Blanton of Nashville, Oscar Parton and Faye Burger, both of Woodbury; brothers-in-law, James Hancock and Billy Reed Melton both of Woodbury; grandchildren, Prentice (Jordan) Parton, Hope (Justin) Tenpenny, Lauren Parton, Hilary Howell, Ford Parton and Landon Parton; and great-grandchildren, Trista Parton and Mason Baccam.

 Mr. Parton was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Daisy Tucker Parton; and his sister, Jo Ann Hancock.

 In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to National Kidney Foundation or Leoni and BlantonCemetery.
