When your durn old computer starts acting up what can you do?

Talk to non-English speaking tech representatives endlessly on the phone? Or maybe toss it out in the trash and buy a new one?
Fortunately, there's a better option for Woodbury citizens.

Affordable Computer Repair on the Square offers - as advertised - repair of computers, printers and other digital devices at a reasonable price. The shop is located at 223 West Main St. in Woodbury. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8 to 4:30 on Fridays. The phone number is 615-563-FAST (3278).

Brandon Robbins, a certified computer repairman, runs the Woodbury office and specializes in hardware replacement as well as software problems.
The business is owned by Drew and Deanna Barrett of Centertown. Drew's Cannon County connection dates back to his grandfather, Walter Barrett.

"When I was a kid, we were always down here," Drew said. "My dad, Leo, started business in 1966. I took it over 12 years ago."
Leo specialized in meeting Middle Tennessee's Business Equipment needs.

"He grew his business by building relationships with his customers. He knew his business would succeed if he simply did what he said he would do when he said he would do it - all at a fair price," Drew said.

"Business technology has changed since then and we have embraced those changes," Drew said.

"We fill a little niche by selling, leasing and repairing copiers as well as computers and fax machines. The brand doesn't matter" he said.
While Affordable Computer Repair doesn't sell ink for computer printers, "we sell a lot of toner, every brand of toner for every machine," Drew said.

"We try to treat everyone fairly," he said. "We work specifically with small to medium-sized businesses, helping them increase productivity, reduce costs and above all, keep their customers happy."

As an added incentive, the shop is going to cut 10 percent off every customer's first invoice.

In addition to repairing ailing computers, printers and fax machines, Affordable Computers also offers managed workstation and server services to keep computer equipment healthy.

There are several common issues that are addressed including reducing downtime, improving system performance, updating software and overcoming a lack of in-house IT resources. The company also can provide backup services at a reasonable price.
