Irony Found In Home Of Alleged Meth Offenders

Three meth labs were discovered in as many homes in Cannon County last week.

While in the process of conducting their investigation at one of the homes, Cannon County Sheriff’s officers found the following poem, apparently copied in longhand by one of the suspects, attached to a mirror in a bathroom. It was likely derived from similar poems available on the Internet.

While the poem warns of the dangers involved in using meth, it wasn’t enough to deter those arrested from allegedly making it at one of the locations. A total of 12 people were arrested in the course of the three busts.

I destroy homes, I tear families apart,

I take your children and that’s just the start.

Just try once and I might let you go,

But if you try me twice, I am your soul.

I’ll take everything from you, your looks and your pride,

I’ll be with you always, right by your side.

By then it’s too late, you’ll know in your heart,

That you are now mine and we shall not part.

My power is awesome, as I told you before,

I can take your mother and make her a whore.

I have many names, but there’s one you’ll know best,

I’m sure you’ve heard of me, my name is Crystal Meth.

Now that you’ve met me, what will you do?,

Will you try me or now, it’s all up to you.

I can show you more misery than words can tell,

Come hold my hand, let me lead you to hell.

Wow! Now that is ironic. Im glad they are getting more of these meth labs. We live close to Simpson Rd and its becoming known as Meth Rd. I just hope something is done about them this time.

Yes, maybe that person realizes how true that poem is now. So sad to think this many family members have gone down that road. I live very close to Simpson. I pass by that residence every day. I hope there is more of a crackdown on all this devastating activity. Good job Cannon County Sheriff's dept. Please keep up the good work. I do not want anymore of this activity near my home,my children, or my neighbors.

Just goes to show how powerfully addictive this awful drug can be. This person fought against it and knew it was devastating but did it anyway.

Prevention is the best cure. Parents, warn your children until it's drilled into their little heads.
