Idell Parton Summers

Idell Parton Summers, 89, a native of Cannon County, died Sunday, Sept. 20, 2009 at Wharton Regional Medical Center following an extended illness.

A resident of Manchester, she was a retired seamstress from Colonial and a member of the Dillon St. Baptist Church.

She is survived by three children, Thomas (Patricia) Summers of Bowling Green, KY, Peggy Walls of Murfreesboro and Betty (Gary) Turner of Tullahoma; a sister, Annie Lois Paschal of Woodbury; six grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Alfred and Delie Smith Parton; brothers Homer, Grady and Wiley Parton and sister, Lorene Parton.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 21 at Woodbury Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, Sept. 22, 2009 at the Chapel of Woodbury Funeral Home with Bro. Doyle Sadler, Bro. Thomas Earl Nichols and Bro. Ronnie Trussell officiating.

Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery. Grandchildren will service as active pallbearers.
