Homeowner Finds Bags Of Headless Chickens On Property



Following are the latest crime and incident reports as recorded by the Cannon County Sheriff's Department.

Cannon County Sheriff Incident Reports for 12.2.2009

10.20.2009 — Dep. Rodney Nichols served a warrant on Mark A Pless for violation of probation in the CCSO booking room without incident.

10.20.2009 — Dep. Rodney Nichols served a warrant on Jeromie Mashburn for violation of probation in the CCSO booking room without incident.

11.19.2009 — After a lengthy investigation and cooperation with outside organizations, Charles Eugene Howland and Charles Clint Howland were charged with animal cruelty for their poor treatment of many horses and dogs.

11.22.2009 — Dep. Rodney Nichols served two warrants on Jesse Kifer for failure to appear and a capias in the CCSO booking room without incident.

11.23.2009 — Dep. Anthony Young was dispatched to 3874 Parchcorn Hollow Rd. There Dawn Wingate stated that she had found several dead chickens with their heads cut off in bags on her property. The chickens did not look to have been used for food.

11.24.2009 — Dep. Marijo Martinez served a warrant on Francisco Sustegui for violation of probation in the CCSO booking room without incident.

11.25.2009 — Dep. James Bryson was dispatched to 170 Choctaw Dr. for possible animal neglect. Upon arrival, the animals in question (several cats and a dog) were found to be well fed and in adequate care.

11.25.2009 — CCSO inmate Michael Ragan was charged with two counts of vandalism. The first was for damaging the fence in the jail's outside recreation yard. Afterwards Mr. Ragan was brought to visitation for booking where he manipulated an electrical socket and shorted out the lights in the lobby and in visitation. The fence damage was valued at $501 (vandalism over $500) and the electrics was valued under $500.

11.25.2009 — Dep. Mark Thomas served a warrant on Keith D Gibson for violation of probation in the CCSO booking room without incident.

11.25.2009 — Det. Wilder received a phone call from Larry Jernigan in whose care Terry McElyea had left a four wheeler and trailer because "he thought it would be stolen from his apartment complex." Mr. Jernigan felt that something was off about the whole thing and called the CCSO. Upon investigation, Det. Wilder found that the four wheeler had been stolen recently in Rutherford Co. The trailer and four wheeler were brought to the CCSO and eventually returned to their owner.

11.26.2009 — Officer dispatched to 135 Fair Oaks Lane in reference to dogs at large. There Linda Smith complained that neighboring dogs were a nuisance and had been for some time. The Responding officer went to the owner of the dogs and he agreed to put them up. No charges were filed.

11.26.2009 — Dep. Patrick Fann was dispatched to 16 Jamie Circle for an unwanted guest. There Allen Johnston stated thsat his brother Robert had been drinking for two days and staying up all hours of the night raising hell. Allen revealed that Robert lived at the residence and Dep. Fann advised Allen that he would therefore have to go through civil court to get his brother evicted.

11.26.2009 — Dep. Brandon Mims was dispatched to a wreck involving a cow. There Ronald Lawson explained that a cow had rammed and damaged his vehicle while he was tryign to get them out of the road.

11.27.2009 — Dep. Greg Fauls responded to James Barlow's report of having towed a stolen steam roller. Mr Barlow wanted to clear his name from the stolen equipment. The steam roller was brought to the CCSO Impound Yard.

11.28.2009 — Dep. Young was dispatched to the CCSO where Douglas Hadley reported that a washer and dryer of unknown make or model had been stolen from his rental property, where Stephanie Dickerson and Jack Skimmerhorn had recently been evicted.

11.29.2009 — Dep. Aaron Hillis was dispatched to 1420 Lconium Road in reference to a stolen trailer and truck. The vehicle was entered in to NCIC.

11.29.2009 — Steven Bullock was charged with simple assault and phone harassment for threatening and then attacking a Mr. Markum over Markum's contact with his daughter. Mr. Bullock was injured but not critically in the altercation.

11.29.2009 — Dep. Anthony Young was dispatched to Capp Almond Road in reference to a vehicle fire. There was a stolen 1998 GMC Yukon that had been set afire, burning up an acre and a half of underbrush and leaves. The vehicle had its wheels removed and was up on blocks. The VIN was not recoverable.

11.30.2009 — Dep. Patrick Fann was dispatched to 2195 Pea Ridge Rd. in reference to an unwanted guest. There Barry Bynum reported that Bradley Ferrell was at this residence and that Mr. Bynum felt threatened because Ferrell had been drinking and had made threats to another of Bynum's guests. Donald Ferrell had offered Bradley to stay at lot #8 so he wouldn't cause trouble, but Bradley instead went to #3 where Bynum lives. Deputy Fann escorted Bradley to lot #8 and advised him not to return to #3 or he would be charged with criminal trespassing.

11.30.2009 — Mary Barrett reported that Amanda Barrett had stolen the van she had recently purchased from her. Amanda claimed that Mary owed another $100 on the van and that's why she took it. After a lengthy discussion of options, the van was left in the possession of Mary Barrett.

11.30.2009 — Dep. Mark Thomas served a warrant on Steven John Hollis for violation of probation in the CCSO booking room without incident.

11.30.2009 — Shelia Morris reported that people in a loud truck had vandalized her mailbox.
