Hazardous Weather, Heat Advisories In Effect

A hazardous weather outlook and a heat advisory is in effect for Cannon County.

Isolated strong thunderstorms are possible today and tis evening. Wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph along with briefs heavy downpours will occur with the stronger storms.

Dangerous heat levels are expected. Young children... elderly people... those with illnesses or heart conditions... and those who work or play outdoors are most at risk.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A heat advisory means that a period of hot weather is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and high humidity will create a situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids... stay in an air-conditioned room... stay out of the sun... and check on relatives and neighbors. Make sure outdoor pets have plenty of fresh water.

Hot temperatures and moisture will combine to produce head indices from 103 to 108 degrees in western and central Middle Tennessee over the weekend.

Monday: Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 93. Calm wind becoming north northwest around 5 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30%.

Monday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 73. Northeast wind around 5 mph becoming calm.

Tuesday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 92. Calm wind becoming southwest around 5 mph.
