Hattie Lou (Martin) Wood, Woodbury resident and Warren County native, age 86, was born January 9, 1925 and died January 28, 2011 at Middle Tennessee Medical Center following an extended illness.

Retired from the Tennessee Department of Human Services and Paul L. Reed Furniture, she was the daughter of the late Ransom Gwyn and Nannie Elizabeth McVey Martin, Sr. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Lila Hancock, Hortense Simmons, Katherine Sain, Wilma Beam and twin sister Mattie Sue and three brothers, Carson, Hugh and R.G. Martin, Jr. She was married to William "Bill" Gowen Wood of Woodbury. Preceding her in death was one daughter Kathryn Gwynn (Wood) Nichols.
 
She is survived by one grandson, Dale Nichols (Christy M. Nichols) of Murfreesboro, TN; and two great granddaughters, Kathryn Danielle "Katie" Nichols and Kristen Elizabeth Nichols; and brother, George G. Martin of Ft. Lauderdale, FL.

Arrangements handled by Smith's Funeral Home. Visitation to be at the Woodbury Church of Christ on Saturday, January 29, 2011 from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. Funeral service to be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Woodbury Church of Christ with Herb Alsup officiating. Interment will be in the Riverside Cemetery.
