Haskell Coolidge Haley

Mr. Haskell Coolidge Haley, 85, died September 25, 2009 in Hoopeston, IL. Mr. Haley was born in Morristown, TN on January 11, 1924. His parents were the late Medford James Haley and Tennessee (Lewis) Haley. He is also preceded in death by his wife, Gertrude (Todd) Haley and a son, Danny Haley.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, William M. "Mike" & Marquita Haley of Oakwood, IL; daughter-in-law, Carol Haley of Urbana, IL; a sister, Pauline Campbell of Arkansas; a brother, James Haley of Tennessee; two grandsons, Michael and Tim Haley; two great grandchildren, Stephanie and Michael Lee Haley and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Haley worked on local farms in the Potomac and Hoopeston, IL area until he retired. He served in the United States Army during WW II. Upon his return from the military he attended a trade carpentry school. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing and hunting.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at 1 PM at Thyatira Cemetery. T. B. Gentry will officiate. The U. S. Military Honor Guard will be in attendance to present the flag.
