Hall of Fame event on Thursday

The Cannon Courier Sports Hall of Fame and All Sports Banquet is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 19 at the Arts Center of Cannon County.

Today (Wednesday, May 18) at noon, is the deadline to purchase tickets for the event.

Tickets may be purchased at The Courier's office or by phone at 615-563-2512.

The 6th annual Hall of Fame honorees include:

Dennis Banks, a member of the 1974 undefeated football team.

Eddie Bowman, a 1979 graduate of CCHS was a leading scorer on the basketball court.

Bruce Daniel, a major supporter of Lion and Lionette athletics.

Randy King, a basketball star at Auburn High School and longtime head coach and athletic director at Murfreesboro Oakland.

Tessa Tenpenny Jaggers, a 1996 graduate and a member of the Lionettes basketball which advanced to the Substate in 1993.

Bobby Zumbro, played a key role in creating the local Dixie Youth baseball and softball league and Junior Pro Basketball league back during the 1970s.
