Deadline to purchase tickets is May 13 at 5 p.m. Tickets will not be sold at the door. The Hall of Fame and All-Sports Awards Banquet will take place, May 16, at Robert A. Harris Gymnasium at 6:30 p.m. Attire is business casual (church clothes).

The meal is being catered by Prater's Barbecue and includes barbecue, potato salad, cole slaw, ranch beans, bread, desert and tea. Guest speaker is Hall of Fame Middle Tennessee State Head Women's Basketball Coach Rick Insell, a Woodbury native who has led the Lady Raiders to six postseason appearances in his six years leading the program.

Corporate tables (seats 10) are available for $100. Reserved seating is only provided to those purchasing corporate tables, the honored student-athletes and Hall of Fame inductees. Groups of 10 may also take advantage of purchasing a corporate table.

Cannon County's first Hall of Fame class will be inducted at the banquet. The first class to be enshrined includes Steve Bullard (athlete), Annie Cox (coach), Robert A. Harris (coach), Julie Powell (athlete) and Arna Smithson (contributor). The Hall of Fame inductees were selected by a five-person committee that will remain anonymous.

"I would like to thank the Hall of Fame Committee for the job they did in selecting this outstanding induction class," said William R. (Ron) Fryar, owner/publisher of The Cannon Courier. "The list of nominees was long and filled with many deserving Hall of Fame candidates. The Committee did a good job of going through the candidates and selecting a very worth group of individuals."

In addition to the induction of the first Cannon County Hall of Fame Class, The Cannon Courier's Player of the Year in each of CCHS' 11 TSSAA-sponsored sports will be revealed, along with the Male and Female Athlete of the Year, Male and Female Scholar Athlete of the Year, Lions Award and Inspiration Award.
